I am a Musician in Healthcare, Dad in a Rainbow family, Radical Faerie, folk singer, and songwriter. Through running my own company, Wellspring Music CIC, I have long experience of handling large budgets and of writing funding bids. I have held a position of responsibility for the Albion Faeries’ bank account for several years, tracking contributions and making payments.

With the Faeries I have also been part of several organising teams for gatherings, and have become experienced at holding space for Circles and for rituals. My spiritual practice has been informed by Faeries (and to a lesser extent, Queer Pagan Camp), and is rooted in a belief that we are all part of the earth and all interconnected. I see disconnection from the natural world as the major cause of the world’s ills.

Ironically, having grown up in the countryside, I have lived in cities all my adult life, and would probably have left Nottingham to return a rural life by now, but for needing to remain close to my sons and their mums. Before that I was in a long-term (and ill-fated) relationship which interrupted my lifelong desire to live in community in harmony with the land, though we talked for years of someday having an Eco-house. My only experience of community living was among fellow Peace Studies students in Bradford in the late 80s, and in recent years I have become very accustomed to living alone. My time in the faeries has inspired me to have renewed ideas of Queer Community, and the Climate Crisis along with the global political situation calls me to a simpler life.

I am delighted to be joining Malwen’s Steering Committee, and hope to join fully in the future.
