Malwen Snail Trail – April 2025
Spring has Sprung Again! Welcome to the Spring Snail Trail! We’re really excited to share our news with you and what we’ve been up to. Yay, we’re now a Charitable …
Croeso i’n gwefan, dyma ni’n rhannu gyda chi ein taith i greu cymunedau queer, symbiotig yng Nghymru a thu hwnt.
Ar hyn o bryd mae Malwen yn grŵp bach sy’n sefydlu sylfaen ar gyfer prosiectau tir, gan feithrin cartref queer ecolegol ac adfywiol i bobl ac eraill, tyfu bwyd a chynefin, creu gwytnwch trwy fioamrywiaeth ac amrywiaeth cymdeithasol gyda phwyslais ar greu cartrefi i bobl LGBTQ+ yng Nghymru.
Mae’r falwen yn arwyddlun rhyfeddol ond pwerus a pherthnasol ar gyfer ein prosiect cwiar-eco. Maent yn arddangos ymddygiad a ffisioleg y gellir eu hystyried yn gwiar, megis bod yn anrhywiol neu’n ddeuryw, ac maent yn wydn yn wyneb amodau gelyniaethus. Bydd malwod yn aml yn cael eu camddeall a’u pardduo gan arddwyr, yn debyg, ar lawer ystyr, i’r hyn sydd wedi digwydd i bobl gwiar yn ein cymdeithas ddynol. Mae malwod yn awgrymu inni gwestiynu meddwl modern ac yn datgelu’r bydysawd cwiar yr ydym yn byw ynddo, sy’n aml yn cael ei ddisytyru a heb gael ei werthfawrogi’n ddigonol.
Shwmae, falch eich bod wedi dod o hyd inni!
Welcome to our website, here we are sharing with you our journey in creating queer, symbiotic communities in Wales and beyond.
Malwen is currently a small group setting up a foundation for land based projects, nurturing a queer ecological and regenerative home for humans and non humans, growing food and habitat, creating resilience through biodiversity and social diversity with an emphasis on creating homes for LGBTQ+ people in Wales.
Malwen, Cymraeg for snail, is a surprising yet powerful and relevant emblem for our queer-eco project. They exhibit behaviour and physiology that can be seen as queer, such as being asexual or hermaphrodites, and are resilient in the face of hostile conditions. Malwod are often misunderstood and demonised by gardeners, in much the same way as queer people have been in our human society. Malwod conjure up a questioning of modern thinking and reveal the neglected and often under-appreciated queer universe we live in.
